The Bluebird of Happiness…

And when he sings to you
Though you’re deep in blue
You will see a ray of light creep through
And so remember this, life is no abyss
Somewhere there’s a bluebird of happiness…

A song written by George Stewart in 1936, though according to Wikipedia the idea of a small blue bird as a symbol of happiness transcends many cultures and goes back to ancient times.

After a longer than normal workday, and looking at the sky and knowing that a trip out for the sunset will be a waste, you have to wonder if this will be the day there will be no fodder for a blog post.  But then you notice the bluebirds on the wire right above your head.  And when you go inside for your camera they very cooperatively stick around.  When they decide to take off they just go across the street to the street sign on the corner, and the for sale sign on the house across the street.  Yes, the bluebird of happiness is a thing, and it’s has come so close to landing at my house.  Maybe, one of these days…
