Williston, FL was our destination yesterday, for a lovely hike that included flowers, waterfalls, and a cicada serenade. It was not your usual botanical garden with beds of flowers. No, the flowers were tucked away along the trail that began up high, above the water, with a lot of blessed shade on a hot summer day. Views of the water and waterfalls and bridges revealed themselves as we walked. We wondered about the lily pads we were seeing, if they were real I mean. Turns out they were real, but the dinosaurs were not.

The trail circled the lake with it’s bridges and waterfalls, and along the way we found some creatures to photograph also.

It was a much needed day out, while following the rules of course…
What a lovely spot. Serene and beautiful. The lily pads are amazing!

Maybe you’ll get a chance to visit in person, when it isn’t a heat index of 104!
