Driving Miss Daisy…

Our chauffeur proposed a ‘driving Miss Daisy’ outing for Sunday, and who could refuse an offer like that? So we were off to the beautiful coast of Maine in spite of less than ideal weather, and we made a few stops and laughed a lot. The first stop was in Kennebunk, which you see in the feature photo. Walker Point, the compound of the senior Bush’s.

We kept rooting for the sun to actually emerge from the clouds but it never quite made it.
The ‘Wedding Cake House’ was a must see.
I spent four weeks camping on the Maine coast and managed to never hear of this place.
The Nubble Lighthouse, which I had managed to get to more than once on my stay. It was windy and cold, so our visit was short.
Also seen on the Nubble stop.
We had lunch at The Hurricane restaurant and the view from the parking lot was pretty darned good also.

Another fun day, but the days are always fun when I’m here, even when we just stay home. But today I must remember to check in for my flight home tomorrow, and part of me hates to leave, but mostly I’ll be happy to get home because home is a nice place to be these days also.

This is Walker Point, not sure how it got confused.
